Bastardos Sympaticos (Finnland)
Bastardos Sympaticos was first set at motion some 5 years ago in Cologne by Finnish born uke-addict Juha. Life kicked the project around the Europe, first to Finland and then through Holland back to Germany, where Bonn based music-producer Johnny Y. joined the project. Currently the Bastardos Sympaticos exist only as a session-band, locked-up deep in a sound-proofed chambers of Johnny's studio, but will be set free to tour the European uke-scene by summer 2008 when the first CD is due to be released. The two J's are both multi-instrumentalists, but in the studio as well as on the stage they are supported by an exquisite selection of some of the finest roots, blues, folk and bluegrass musicians ever to evolve from the old continent.
Music of the Bastardos Sympaticos is a unique mixture blues, reggae, folk and roots -music with a big fun-element, guaranteed to put smiles on everybody's face.

Iso Herquist (Deutschland)
German comedian.

|
Preslisa (Deutschland)
Preslisa digs Elvis. No doubt about that. Strangely enough, she also has a weakness for his movies. As a confessional Elvisologist, she defies any serious brain damage that watching those E-movies usually cause and plunges into the wonderful world of Elvis-film-songs. 31 E-movies, that makes 231 film-songs. Digging deep and not deferred by kitsch of any kind, Preslisa digs out long-forgotten song-pearls beyond “Jailhouse Rock” and “Love Me Tender”. Armed only with her ukulele, she travels the country and keeps the Spirit of The King alive. For real.

Professor Peter and Doctor Dick (Niederlande)
Cruising down the rivers of romantic melodies and roaming the roads of old songs, Professor Peter and Doctor Dick studied the possibilities of making Great Music on Small Instruments. During the European Ukulele festival they will play songs from their program: It's Ukulele Time. The professor and docter play on ukulele, banjolele, bass-o-lele, mandolin, singing saw, kazoo and many other small instruments while singing their favirite songs.

Ginette Machin (France)
Since she discovered ukulele, Ginette Machin is living a awesome love story with it. Together, they're going hands in cords: such a great fun! Ginette Machin writes bucolic songs, with innocents lyrics or gently biting. She sings small stories about daily life. French song or Rock'n'Roll : she's torn between the two ! Playing with her four buddy boys, she travels around the ukulele planet. Last may, they've played at the first French ukulele festival, in Paris (Paris Uke Fest). With Adrien Mallamaire (guitar and voice), Julien (drums), Renaud (bass guitar) and Gillian (slide trombone), she'd go to the ends of the earth!

Tim Sweeney (USA)
People see the uke and don't know what to expect. I hit the first few bars of "Sunny Side of the Street," or "Satin Doll," and I've got' em.
It's not your grandfather's ukulele - I put a new spin on the old songs and sing them with feeling. People love a good whistler, so I try and do it well. Although I sing a number of Frank Sinatra songs, I'm trying to be Nat King Cole on the uke. Throw in a Beatles tune here and "Pinball Wizard" there and people respond. I always have fun and I'm told it shows.

Ukulelezaza (Belgium)
When you see Ukulelezaza (real name Remco Houtman-Janssen), a ukulele can't be far. Where ever he goes, he brings one of his ukes to play and show the world the full potential of it as a musical instrument. Either in the train, in the open window of his house in downtown Ghent or on stage at uke festivals worldwide. His stage act includes several types of ukuleles (soprano, taropatch, banjolele, lapsteel uke) and as many different styles of playing. He plays traditionals as well as originals. Remco is one of the organisers of the Belgian uke fest, which will have its second edition in Spring 2009.

Das endgültige südhessische Ukulelenorchester (Germany)
They got their first real sixstrings in the summer of 69 and their first small fourstrings in the spring of 96. The dates may be different for the individual members of the orchestra, but so the story goes. No expectations for being a guitar hero are easier to bear with a ukulele in your hand. It`s Summertime! Maybe a Ukulele Lady hears them when they sing the New Hula Blues under the Blue Moon. Oliver Hechler (Sopranukulele), Bernd Schaffer (Tenorukulele), Thorsten Senger (Baritonukulele), Bodo Kolbe (Baritonukulele), Armin Schöneberger (Bass), Michael Ernst (Percussion)
